General Objectives:

 This module aims to present an introduction to the general principles and methods that help to enhance the judgment making procedure and make a better decision in life based on the statistical data. It also allows them to develop appropriate skills and strategies in teaching and learning statistics in schools.

  Learning Outcomes:

 On completion of the module, the student-teachers will be able to:

  1. conduct simple experiments on probability theory;
  2. draw histogram for discrete probability distribution;
  3. plan and carry out experiments in order to understand real life probability situations and make decisions;
  4. use various statistical methods in undertaking simple research projects;
  5. solve, analyze and interpret the results of a mathematical model in statistics in one’s own way of thinking;
  6. use the knowledge of hypothesis testing in carrying out action research;
  7. apply the knowledge of normal distribution in quality control.
