General Objectives:
This module aims to present an introduction to the general principles and methods that help to enhance the judgment making procedure and make a better decision in life based on the statistical data. It also allows them to develop appropriate skills and strategies in teaching and learning statistics in schools.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the module, the student-teachers will be able to:
- conduct simple experiments on probability theory;
- draw histogram for discrete probability distribution;
- plan and carry out experiments in order to understand real life probability situations and make decisions;
- use various statistical methods in undertaking simple research projects;
- solve, analyze and interpret the results of a mathematical model in statistics in one’s own way of thinking;
- use the knowledge of hypothesis testing in carrying out action research;
- apply the knowledge of normal distribution in quality control.
